Disclaimer
Last reviewed: October 26, 2026. CanadaEver publishes general information about immigrating to and settling in Canada. Please read this page before relying on anything on this site.
General information only, not legal or financial advice
Everything on CanadaEver is provided for general information and education. It is not legal advice, immigration advice, financial advice or tax advice, and reading this site does not create a lawyer-client, consultant-client or any other professional relationship. Immigration rules, fees, processing times and eligibility criteria change often and each person’s situation is different. Check the current rules with the official source before you act, and get advice about your own case from an authorized professional.
We are not the Government of Canada
CanadaEver is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Government of Canada, or any provincial or territorial government. The official source for Canadian immigration programs and forms is IRCC on Canada.ca.
We do not sell visas or guarantee outcomes
- We do not sell visas, permits, permanent residence, citizenship or any government service.
- We do not process, file or submit applications, and we do not represent anyone before IRCC or any other authority.
- We cannot and do not promise that any application will be approved, or approved faster. IRCC states that using a representative will not draw special attention to an application or guarantee that it will be approved (IRCC: choosing a representative).
- CanadaEver is not an immigration consultancy and not a law firm.
Getting advice about your own case
If you want advice on your own application, IRCC says a paid immigration or citizenship representative must be authorized: immigration consultants must be members of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants; lawyers and notaries must be members of a Canadian provincial or territorial law society or the Chambre des notaires du Québec; and, in Ontario, paralegals must be members of the Law Society of Ontario. See IRCC: find out if a representative is authorized.
Protect yourself from fraud
IRCC says it will never call you and ask you to deposit money into a personal bank account, and will never ask you to transfer money through a private money transfer company (IRCC). If you think you have been targeted by an immigration scam, see IRCC: protect yourself from fraud and how to report fraud.
Accuracy and external links
We aim to base our immigration coverage on official Government of Canada and provincial sources, but we cannot guarantee that every page is current at the moment you read it. Where our article and an official government page differ, the official page is correct. We link to third-party websites for convenience and are not responsible for their content.
